June Manning Thomas, Centennial Professor of Urban and Regional Planning, and Roy Strickland, Professor of Architecture, recently spoke with Cynthia Canty of Michigan Radio's Stateside program about Detroit's Brewster-Douglass Projects. The Brewster-Douglass Projects, once seen as a shining example of public housing went on to become home to names like Diana Ross, Mary Wilson, Florence Ballard, Smokey Robinson and Lily Tomlin, are now entering the last phase of demolition.

The interview, which took place on April 2, discussed the history of the projects as well as the policies and politics surrounding its demise. The pair also contributed thoughts on what will become of the property once the demolition is complete. Visit the Michigan Radio website to hear the complete interview.
